Sharing a behind the scenes video from my shoot with Kim @booze_baccy in Vasteras.
I didn't have an assistant so I just kept the video camera at a vantage point to shoot the scene. I can't tell you how useful a flip out screen is in these cases. (I use a Sony A6000 with a Sony E 10-18mm f/4 lens as my video rig).
As you can make out from the video, I have consistent interactions with my subject when I'm shooting portraits. It helps the subject get at ease, they get a sense of direction and over time become more comfortable posing and emoting. I also show them the pictures as I shoot, so that they get to see how they look on camera.
